In this paper, the SAMs of n-dodecanethiol were prepared on iron surface by self-assembled methods. By the study of absorption FT-IR and electrochemical method, we can find that the n-dodecanethiol can self-assembled on iron surface, the anticorrosion capability of this SAMs in NaCl solution was enhanced gradually with the increase of the concentration of the n-dodecanethiol. Considering the steric and the requirements of the agent for corrosion resistance, the optimum concentration of the n-dodecanethiol was 1×10-3 mol/L. We can also learn that the longer the iron electrode self-assembled time in n-dodecanethiol, the stronger the anticorrosion capability of the SAMs. When the self-assembled time achieved 6 h, the SAMs of n-dodecanethiol may reach the steady-state .While AC voltage was loaded on iron covered with the SAMs of n-dodecanethiol in the range of appropriate voltage and chose frequency, the AC treatment can boost up the anticorrosion capability of n-dodecanethiol SAMs in NaCl solution. The optimum voltage and frequency of AC treatment for the SAMs of n-dodecanethiol on iron surface were -0.604 v and 2500 Hz respectively.The SAMs of t-dodecanethiol on iron surface was researched at the same time. By the study of absorption FT-IR and electrochemical method, the t-dodecanethiol can also self-assembled on iron surface, which can control the corrosion of iron in NaCl solution. The anticorrosion capability of SAMs of t-dodecanethiol in NaCl solution was enhanced gradually as the concentration of the t-dodecanethiol increased too, but the anticorrosion capability of the SAMs of n-dodecanethiol was better than the t-dodecanethiol's in the same self-assembled time. The anticorrosion capability of mixed SAMs of t-dodecanethiol and n-dodecanethiol was enhanced when the SAMs of t-dodecanethiol was vied with n-dodecanethiol. The AC treatment can boost up the anticorrosion capability of t-dodecanethiol SAMs in NaCl solution at chose voltage and frequency.
