As the complexity increasing of the petroleum exploration and development, deviated well, branched well and horizontal wells are used in oil filed. Logging while drilling (LWD) is widely used to geosteer drill into the complexity oil reservoir and to evaluate the reservoir in time, which not restrictions on the borehole geometric conditions and can measure the real zone log response better than wireline log.This paper mainly studies the technology of trajectory, stratigraphic model and logging curves visual plotting at predefined geological background and LWD real-time monitoring for geosteering drilling. Analyseing the metadata of drilling geological model and drilling engineering design information, the formats of reasonable LWD data and predefined geologic model and well trajectory file is designed. Based on the wellsite data remote transmission technology, the wellbore data can be acquired in real-time. So the well trajectory space coordinates of borehole can calculated in real time and the three-dimensional well trajectory and two-dimensional projection are also can be displayed. Simultaneously, can compare the real well trajectory with the designed one in real-time. In order to study the log response along the well trajectory, the LWD curves is displayed in real time along the well trajectory also. Using of bushing elevation, borehole deviation, azimuth and drilling depth the well two-dimensional trajectory projection can be given in different direction. According to well trajectory horizontal and vertical displacement the LWD curve horizontal and vertical decomposition is plotted based on the visualization of well trajectory for real-time visual interpretation. While visually displaying, all of the LWD data information, including the curve head, curve data and the well trajectory coordinates parameters, etc. are saved in real time. Through the above-mentioned technics, completes the real-time visual interpretation of the LWD data, timely understands the difference between actual drilling and predefined trajectory, knows the changes in the properties of the formation along the direction of well trajectory, gives advice to the drilling engineer, plays an important role for improving the benefits of oil reservoir development.Based on the Microsoft Windows environment, using Visual C++ programming language and OpenGL technology, this paper designs and develops the LWD real-time visual interpretation software system. Practical application shows that it can better guides drilling in a complex geology or horizontal well and gets preferable effect.
