The study is about how to get the maximum of clean coal rate with the method of nonlinear programming in coal preparation plant. Compared to the method of adjusting the separation rate of every system, the use of non-linear programming shows a significant advantage.According to the site sampling and laboratory testing,we deal with the date of screening and float-and-sink test of every separation system firstly and then map the washability curves. We determine the clean coal rate, separation density and performance evaluation of Ep value or I value through the mathematical method. According to stand-alone inspection data of separation systems, we get the distribution curve experience prediction models of dense medium bath, dense medium cyclone and spiral separator. And the models meet the requirements according to the accuracy of the test data.According to the translation theory of distribution curve,we realize the calculation of distribution curve under the condition of changing separation density. It is convenient for enterprise technicians to applicate and maintaint the system with the EXCEL software. The optimization of washing raw coal is proceeded in two ways.It gives full consideration to the impact of production systems with changes in the actual production of coal.Using the optimization results to make the index of separation system, the rae of clean coal can be improved more greatly than changing the washing rate of slack coal and screening slack coal. The optimization results can test the reasonableness of current production system to achieve the purpose of optimizing the system. The optimization results can guide the production operation, avoid the the blindness, improve product rate and increase enterprise profitability.
