Dissertation is committed to study open architecture NC engraving machine system.Based on PC and PMAC motion controller, a basic thought of how to construct the new pattern open architecture NC engraving machine system was brought up.The structure of the hardware and software of the paralleled double CPU open architecture NC system was built by combining PC and PMAC.A new pattern of high-performance, cost-effective open architecture NC engraving machine system was exploited.The main contents are as follows:First, the ways, characteristic and architecture of the Open architecture NC system was expatiated, the CNC engraving machine's status and direction of development was analysed.Second, the system's kernel-PMAC motion controller's capability and characteristic was studied, and it's prior preparatory work before use in detail was introduced.Third, the hardware structure of engraving machine CNC system which based on PC + PMAC was built by using the existing resources.Fourth, the interpolation arithmetic,cutter compensation, acceleration and deceleration control of numerical control system was studied . A direct interpolation arithmetic based on B-spline curve was brought up.Fifth, the software of the control system was developed with the advanced program language VC++6.0, a man-machined interface attributed to this system was designed.The communiation of upper and lower machines were built by using the combined technology of VC++6.0 and dynamic-link library and the PMAC's own driver of Pcomm32.The CNC system of engraving machine is the core control of the CNC engraving machine,it is very important to the cost-effective and market competitive power of engraving machine.So, based on PC + PMAC ,the research and development of open architecture NC engraving machine system which was performance good and cost-effective is meaningful.
