As a new artificial lift method, oil production by screw pump has attracted more and more attention by the oil fields at home and abroad for its unique advantages including low investment, simple structure, convenient operation, remarkable energy saving effect and wide application. And it is expected to become one of the major oil extraction ways. As the matter of fact, the screw pump can not exert the maximum efficiency because of the immaturity and incompletion and know not enoug to its performance of the screw pump technology today. Therefore, master the pump screw working principle and optimized screw pump's operational parameter, it has a positive and practical significance in the area of perfecting the screw pump technology, improving oil production and reducing oil production costs.In this paper, it introduced the screw pump in aspect of present situation and development trends and working principle. Analysising for inflow performance relationship,giving the design method of submergence depth and pump setting depth. Knowing the screw pump has small differences leakage at different speed,same pressure,in base of doing many experimental studies for the screw pump water characteristics. Rotation speed has little effect on the torque. Therefore,it can think of that rotation speed has no effect on leakage and torque in the calculation.Studying for screw pump's displacement and volume efficiency and Pump efficiency,giving the formula.The screw pump's optimization design is that according to the oil well actual state choice most suits model and hypothesis operational parameter,which is in order to satisfies the oil well productivity and make screw pump long-term, stable, highly effective movement and extension examines the pump cycle, reduces the work number of times, causes the economic efficiency maximization. Unifies the above theory, obtains a set of screw rod pump and the parameter optimization design flow. Has compiled the optimization design software, gives the computation example.
