Designing of drilling fluid is one of the most important part of drilling engineering design. At present, drilling fluid are designed rely on designing experience,well data and a lot of experiments by professional designers. The traditional ways have many disadvantages. For the sake of overcoming many disadvantages of traditional methed, We commonly introduce the Expert System into the program of drilling fluid designing.In this paper ,we survey the typical area geologic information and sensitivity data of hydrocarbon reservoir about Dagang Oil Field, and gather many kinds of drilling and completion fluid, and carry out research about the adaptiveness in Dagang Oil Field; We analysis the disadvantages of traditional designing method and optimization method of drilling fluid designing, and proposes a new design method of drilling according to the combination of Rule-Based Reasoning technology and Case-Based Reasoning technology. This new method sufficiently utilize the experience and designing examples, overcome the limitation of traditional matching mode, and designed Dagang Oil Field Drilling and Completion Optimization Design Fluid System.This system improved the efficiency of drilling fluid design, effectively preserve the experience and experts'knowledge. We compared the result of System with design example of 20 wells. The result manifest that there are a higher coincidence rate with design example. It can accurately design the drilling fluid category and performance parameter.
