Aletai is a big area of livestock husbandry with a long history; the Kazakh people who live here have a long history of livestock husbandry management and abundant experience of production. Nomadic life is a kind life style that makes rational utilization of pasture to adapt to the climate and terrain. It stems from the long period of production. Herdsmen seasonally graze livestock to different pasture to get enough water and grass for the livestock, and herdsmen in turn get their necessities for production, living and development from the reproduction of the livestock. Hence, the life style of"living around water and grass"is formed and becomes the most basic characteristic of nomad's way of life and production.Kazakh herdsmen move long distance to different pastures for grazing in different seasons. The stock roads between grazing land are not only roads, which are also the important passages for herdsmen moving to different pastures from the point view of space, cultural belts displaying the life on pastures from the point view of culture, important constituents of ecosystem in which the herdsmen and the livestock are important factors from the point view of ecology. So, from whatever point of view, the stock roads between grazing land are of great significance to the herdsmen. The eco-environment provides importance means of production for the herdsmen during their moving from pasture to pasture, which also restricts their activities to some extent. The traditional nomadic culture comes into being during the using of resource in the eco-environment, the restriction of the environment and adaption to it.The utilization of resource on the stock ways between grazing land is an importance part that the whole usage of resource of Kazakh herdsmen. It demonstrates the attitude of Kazakh to the natural resources and ecosystem environment, the adaptability of Kazakh to natural eco-environment such as pasture, stock roads between grazing lands, and so on. The thesis carries out a survey study in Saerkumu village in Fu Hai town, a small, nomadic Kazakh community, with filed investigation from the point view of ecological anthropology and describes the eco-environment of the stock roads between grazing land and environmental behavior of Kazakh herdsmen during moving from one pasture to another in Aletai area in Xinjiang, thus to explore the ecological concepts displayed by their behavior and the interactive relationship between ecological concepts, a part of culture, and environment and resource.
