fluid transmission and its control is an important technique in industrial automation applications, is one of the core components of electromechanical integration and mechanical design and manufacturing. And the electro-hydraulic proportional control is the most viable branch in such technique. The proportional components don't require for high cleanliness of the media, with low cost, the static and dynamic response it provide meets the major requirements of most of the industry area, and in some respects has been by no means inferior to the servo valve. Proportional control technique has a broad industrial application prospect. Nowadays the use of electro-hydraulic proportional valve in closed-loop control system is not popular in the practical engineering application, especially in the mining machinery, and its design theory is not perfect, need to be further explored. Therefore, the study on such proportional closed-loop control system has an important theoretical value and practical significance.In this paper, the main part of the hydraulic cylinder height adjusting system of electrical haulage shearer as an object was studied. On the basis of analyzing the hydraulic cylinder height adjusting system, for realizing automation of the shearer, firstly put the focus on analyzing and designing the cylinder hydraulic height adjusting system for electrical haulage shearer. Shearer drum set up a high degree of change and increase in the fuel tank of the piston displacement relationship between the function. Designing the electric-hydraulic proportional closed-loop position control system to control the position of the shearer cylinder with using components like electro-hydraulic proportional direction throttle valve, magnetostrictive displacement sensor etc. This paper makes a thorough theoretical analysis of the whole adaptive control system, focuses on establishing the mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic proportional closed-loop position control system, uses MATLAB to analyze, analyzes the system and each composition's static and dynamic performances, designs a reasonable compensator to make the designed system performances better meet the needs of actual work.
