C-section Steel (also known as Halfen section Steel) is a kind of complex cross-section steel which is widely used in many buildings such as tunnel, walls, industrial plants, railways, water and power and so on. It provides people with a safe, reliable and easy to install solution. Its appearance effectively resolved the problem of the large-scale exterior walls stress points. Currently, the C-section steel is mainly cold forming in domestic production. Rarely used by hot bending rolling, it mainly depends on import. Because the characteristics of thin-walled and hook, the C-section steel brings great difficulties for producing, it's not easy to control the shaping and the productivity is low. These years EMU has been developed rapidly, more and more C-section steel are used as pendant. This circumstance enhanced the C-section steel development, so there will be great market demands and application prospects.This article systematically introduces the condition of section producing and the advanced rolling technology. According to a C-section steel,we draw a roll pass sequence and constitute their three-dimensional models by Pro-E software. Twelve passes of C-section steel rolling are simulated and analysed in use of the DEFORM-3D FEM software. The rule of metal flow and the filled situation are analyzed importantly in every pass. Then the pass of the rolling force, the temperature field, the distribution of effective stress on deformation zone and the deformed shape of rolled piece are analyzed in detail. According to the simulation results, we adjust the shapes and dimensions of some passes, and find a new rational scheme of pass system at last.Powerful post-processing function of DEFORM-3D can provide abundant information that physical experiment can not get, such as resistance of deformation, temperature field, strain rate, we can analyze and compare it facilities, and we can drawn useful conclusions, which can provide reference for the feasibility of pass design.
