At present, most oilfields in China have entered mid-late oil exploitation stage. Crude oil moisture content was generally 70-80%, even reach 90%. However, the problems of the pollution to the environment emerging during the development process are unavoidable. Discharge of untreated wastewater would put hazardous risk to environment. Liaohe Oilfield Company is the second-largest oilfield as well as the nation's largest heavy oil and high pour point oil production base in PetroChina, in which the annual production of crude oil is 12 million tons. Most of heavy oil is extracted by injecting senior cadres degrees steam, which produces millions of tons of untreated wastewater. How to deal with large quantities of heavy water economically and reasonably is a big technical problem for the Liaohe oil field.The traditional sewage treatment process control systems not only require specialized personnel to conduct manual operations and monitoring, resulting in slower response of the system accident, but also can not respond to changes in water quality and make adjustment, which limit the stability and quality of sewage treatment.For the above, this paper makes a study in oilfield wastewater treatment technology, water quality, processing equipment and other aspects both at home and abroad. A detailed analysis of the Liaohe Oilfield wastewater treatment status and major issues has been done. Through using the current wastewater treatment technologies, a set of monitoring systems including monitoring software and working site controller which is suitable for advanced sewage treatment are developed.In this paper, the total design plan, hardware configuration and network communication plan of the waste water treatment monitoring system are given. The computer monitoring software of public parameters based on KingView is developed, in which Allen Bradley SLC500 is used as the lower level controller on site. The control system has many functions including remote control, alarm, data processing, history trend display, automatic report printing. After the installation and the commissioning, the system works steadily and well.
