The universal section steel rolling mill is unlike the strip steel rolling mill and ordinary section steel rolling mill, whose structure is comparatively complicated. The rolling mill not only withstands the rolling force of the horizontal roller in the vertical direction, but also withstands the rolling force of the edger roller in the horizontal direction. Namely the elastic-deformation of the rolling-mill is affected by two factors. For the production of the H Beam, the rolling-mill's deformation in vertical direction can directly affect the precision of the H Beam web. And the deformation in horizontal direction can also affect the precision of the H Beam flange.This article systematically introduced the status of the H-beam producing in our country and the universal rolling mill's type and structural characteristics. Based on the parameters of the project,"the universal/two rollers transferable rolling mill", the research group of YanShan University cooperates with a domestic Steel and Iron Enterprise, modeling the universal rolling-mill. Universal mill is simulated in use of the Cosmos Works FEM software. Analyzing the rolling-mill and housing deformation under a series of horizontal and vertical rolling force, we can get the relational data of the deformation, the stress and displacements. And then simulate the two rollers mill. The results data shows that the direction stiffness of the universal rolling mill have direct relation with corresponding rolling force, having little relation with another direction, which is similar with the strip steel rolling mill. By analyzing and researching the rigidity of the universal rolling mill, we can set the reasonable screw down regulations, which may both improve the product precision, and also improve the rolling-mill's life-span. This study provides a basis for the structure parameter design of universal mill.The Cosmos FEM can analyze the assembly directly, divide the grid unit completely. We need put the overall loading and the border condition on the assembly, and endue each part with different material character. We should do nothing but solve once, then we can make a definition easily with this method. Thereby, we can analyze the problem quickly, and get accurate result and useful conclusion, guiding the practical production.
