As the water is terribly polluted and the protecting consciousness is highly strengthened by issuing legislations on environmental protection in every government, the disposal of industrial sewage discharged from ESBR plant is highly required. The condensate water, produced from styrene removing unit in 55kt/a SBR production line in Lanzhou Petrochemical Company, amounts to 1-2 t/h. The condensate water contains tiny quantity of inhibitor and styrene. The COD index of the wastewater is 530 to 675, and the pH value 7.0 to 7.6. The disposal unit would bear great pressure if the sewage is directly discharged into waste pipe network without any pre-treatment.In this thesis, the condensate water from styrene removing unit is investigated and the recycling ratio of the condensate water achieves 50 percent, in the precondition that the production quality is still guaranteed without any additional costs. The lab experiment and pilot scale are introduced and the results are as following:Experiments showed that the influence of condensate water on the reaction is related to the amount of recycling water. With the content is increased, the reacting rate declined, and Mooney viscosity raised, and content of combined styrene also raised. When condensate water accounting for 10%(recycling ratio amounts to 50%) of whole water in reaction, reaction course and performance of rubber can achieve technical-index of industry product.The pilot-scale test indicated polymerization reaction could go on well when condensate water is 10% of whole water in reaction. Reaction time, content of gel and combined styrene, Mooney viscosity, mechanical performance, stability of rubber cement, molecular weight and its distribution could achieve technical-index of industry product. So the results meet the condition of industry test.The successful development of this technology can apply to the same type emulsion SBR (ESBR) unit at home and abroad. And it is helpful promoting the technical level of ESBR, realizing the nonpolluting production, building up a good social image of enterprise.
