Room-temperature ionic liquids are attracting much interest in many fields of academia and industry, due to their potential as a "green" recyclable alternative to the traditional organic solvents. The advantages of RTILs over traditional solvent include that low vapor tension, favorable conductivity, good stability in thermal and chemical, wide electrochemical windows. Various applications of RTILs, such as catalysis, electrochemistry, extractions, have been attempted. RTILs are easily manufactured to be hydrophobic or hydrophilic based on their cations and anions, People give attention to the design and synthesis of the functionalized ionic liquids in recent years.Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) is a low-defect monolayer with clear, stable, a highly specific function and performance, which forming in the solution (or gas) spontaneously through strong bond with the matrix material. The self-assembly of organosulfur compounds on gold surfaces has been extensively studied during the last few years. Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) have engendered considerable interest among electrochemists since these systems afford the possibility of controlling the molecular architecture at the electrode solution interface. The physical-chemical qualities, applications, excellence of Room temperature ionic liquids were reviewed in this paper. Hydroxyl-functionalized ionic liquids (HFILs) and Thiol-functionalized ionic liquids (TFILs) were synthesized and they are investigated by IR spectrum,1H spectrum, Mass spectrum. The fabrication and electrochemical characteristics of Thiol functionalized ionic liquids (TFILs) self-assembled monolayer modified gold electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry in Fe(CN)64-, dopamine and ascorbic acid in phosphate buffer solution. These studies provide useful information at molecular lever for understanding of the reaction pathways of these important species.1.Hydroxyl-functionalized ionic liquids and Thiol-functionalized ionic liq-uids (TFILs) were synthesized and investigated by IR spectrum,1H spectrum, Mass spectrum. 2.Thiol-functionalized ionic liquids (TFILs) self-assembled monolayer mo dified gold electrode were investigated by cyclic voltammetry in Fe(CN)64-and dopamine, ascorbic acid in phosphate buffer solution.
