This paper first systematically employed the application of Gemini cationic surfactant M in nylon printing with acid dye and cotton dyeing with reactive dye,and then explored the possibilities of reducing pots during printing polyamide fiber and dyeing cotton fiber with low salt. Our study shows that 1) Using CationicM to print nylon with acid dye could clear up pots while the concentration of AnionicA,CationicM and 1815 were 0.1%,0.075% and 0.05% in the paste,in this concentration, a stable interaction formed between mixing surfactant and the acid dye, which effectively removing pots during printing.2) CationicM(3% fluid) was used to modify cotton fiber,as the concentration was 50g/l, cotton could be dyed with low salt with a schematic diagram of pad-dry-cure process, while curing temperature was 150℃,time was 60s.Compared with common salt-high styles'(salt concentration was 40g/L), the K/S of modified cotton fabric(salt concentration was 25g/L) outrided a little,at the same time, dyeing rate and fixation rate were nearly approximative. The most important thing was that the process was simple and the dosage of CationicM was small, which could reduce the environmental pollution much.It was a feasibal method to dye cotton fiber with low salt.
