Heavy oil in the oil and gas resources accounts for a large proportion, so to enhance heavy oil recovery, enhanced oil recovery has become the focus of research. However, unlike conventional crude oil, heavy oil are mainly high viscosity and difficult to use conventional methods to mining, which requires some special technical measures. Thermal recovery is the main technology of exploitation of heavy oil today. Through researching a large amount of literature at home and abroad, this paper reviewed the basic principles, the development and application status and shortcomings of these technologies of several conventional thermal producting heavy oil technologies (such as steam method and the burning oil law). This paper also introduced the technology and its development application of several new hot mining techniques (such as thermal recovery technology of horizontal wells, horizontal well steam assisted heat recovery technology, hot chemical, foam flooding technology and heating technology) and the problems of heat oil in heavy oil recovery. To solve heavy oil recover problems and reduce the heavy oil production costs, the key is to strengthen scientific and technological research, and to strengthen international co-operation. By the specific circumstances of reservoir, different types of reservoir geology, to select the appropriate technology for heavy oil thermal recovery, and converse technologies to be timely, complete and timely application of technology, the premise of a certain economic benefits to ensure the greatest extent possible under the Harvest rate, so that oil can continue to maintain a stable, create a better economic efficiency. Thermal recovery not only plays an important role in the heavy oil recover, and posesses wider and wider potential applications as petroleum mining technology, and has expanded to dilute oil field. In Jinzhou oil area of Liaohe Oilfield heat recovery technology is widely used, in order to further enhance oil recovery, we began to carry out thermal recovery pilot test for Jin 45 block in 2007. Pilot test includes three aspects: according to the principle of the choice of test area, by analyzing the general profile of each block, geological and structural characteristics, reservoir characteristics of Jin 45 block, we selected for the 91 block of Jin 45 block as a pilot test block. Through lab simulation and analysis, combined with geological data on the test injection parameters of drive of steam were optimized. We launched a steam drive technology applied research to create the conditions for better experimental results. In the pilot test period, the oil recovery of test area has been enhanced and yield has increased significantly. By monitoring and analysis the injection pressure, temperature, mining, oil and gas ratio than the change in injection of the test area, the test area entered an effective displacement phase, and vapor chamber is being also extended an extension, but there are still some problems. According to the test problems, to carry out the thermal/chemical, foam drive and horizontal well technology in a pilot area as the next step in thermal recovery research is established. The data of on-site collection show that: with the conventional steam flooding oil recovery technology as the main method, combining geological structure situation of special layers and the crude nature to carry out by thermal chemical flooding, foam flooding and other heat recovery technology, with a wide range of horizontal heat recovery technology applications, crude oil production was significantly increased. from the technical, economic and so verified, into blocks to carry out thermal recovery technology is a scale of mining technology for development.
