Machine tool is a symbol of manufacturing levels for a country. At present,the system of CNC machine tool with five-axis is on behalf of the highest level in the field of manufacturing for machine tool,in some sense, the situation of industrial development level for a country is reflected by it. The CNC machining center is developed increasingly towards the direction of high-speed,high precision and so on, and its mechanisms are becoming more and more complicated,which required higher and higher performances for it.For it there is not only the processing function of complex curving surface for the multi-coordinates, but also the performances such as compound,flexibility and multi-functions and so forth,and the high quality, low cost and high efficiency must be obtained. So it is an extremely task to research and exploit the CNC machining center. Virtual manufacturing technology (VMT) is a kind of advanced technology, and its development and application provide technical means for researching and developing high performance machining center.Virtual modeling and simulation analysis of five-axis manufacturing center for milling and boring is mainly introduced in the paper. Using 3D virtual modeling technology builds, up virtual prototype (VP)of five-axis manufacturing center for milling and boring,and proceeds to kinematics and dynamics analysis of the VP.Virtual modeling and simulation analysis are the core technology of VP technologies, and virtual modeling is the foundation of virtual manufacturing, and all simulation analysis is based on the VP. Parametric feature modeling technology is adopted to complete the virtual modeling for the main parts of five-axis manufacturing center for milling and boring under the environment of Pro/e,then virtual assembling technology is used to. finish the parts of processing center and assembling of the whole machine, and virtual entity model of five-axis manufacturing center for milling and boring is achieved,meanwhile,static interference is reviewed.In the process of design,in order to meet the requirements of high speed and high acceleration,the spindle device is adopted and linear motor is used at X and Y feeding mechanism. Then the entity model of processing center is imported into the environment of ADAMS software.According to the kinematics and dynamics theory of multi-rigid body, kinematics and dynamics analysis are made for the virtual prototype of five-axis manufacturing center for milling and boring in the environment of ADAMS software.The law of motion and review of speed and displacement are checked in the kinematics analysis.The relationships between driving forces at X and Y, speed and acceleration are analyzed respectively, and their curving paragraphs are displayed.Modeling and simulation of five-axis manufacturing center for milling and boring is studied with virtual manufacturing technology in this paper. The Reliable theory is provided for designing processing center of high performance,the developing cycle is shortened,the developing cost is reduced and the product quality is promoted.
