With the development of science and production technology, the lifecycle of productsbecomes shorter and shorter, to updating products constanly, most manufactures must greatlycut the periods of development and manufacture.In view of this,many new manufacturingtechnologies and systems have arisen, such as,Virtual Manufacturing Technology(VMT)、Virtual Manufacturing System(VMS)etc.The essence of which is the omni bearing imitationand simulation of product.The article analyzed the domestic and foreign development situation of theCMM(Coordinate Measuring Machine),and Virtual Manufacturing, introduced the concept ofthe CNC-CMC(CNC—Gear Measuring Center),and compared with traditional CMCs,but thatdon’t support Conecurrent Engineering and Virtual Manufacturing,and even can’t run invirtual environments.So a new type, named Virtual CNC-Gear Measuring Center(VCNC—GMC),and the architecture and general planning were introduced.As the outcome ofcombining VR with coordinate measurement technology, VCNC-GMC which Can be appliedto teaching,training,function demonstrating, VM,especially, validating the programs ofhighly exact and difficultly machining workpiece and so on.The research of the subject aimed at creating the geometric modeling,motion modelingand error modeling of CNC GMC in virtual reality to lay the foundation for simulating ofVCNC—GMC,To make VCNC-GMC vividly to reproduce the structure, motion andperformance of the real CNC—GMC,the article expatiated the approaches for two criticaltechnologies of simulating and running:geometric modeling, motion modeling.In regard to geometric modeling,the article accounted for the mechanism hierarchicalmodel of CNC—GMC and dwelled on the geometric modeling of VCNC-GMC under theVisual C++6.0integrated development environment with the theories of geometric modeling、Solidworks and OpenGL(3D graphics library),At the absic of these, the realizing methods ofmotion model of VCNC GMC were described and a problem with more complicatedCollision Detection and The return value was well solved.
