Chapter 1:The problems of food and food packages safety, the factors caused these problems, and the regulations related to food and food contact materials in different nations, as well as the advances in this field have been reviewed, on the basis of these reviews, our own research content and the creativity were put forward.Chapter 2:A rapid method of extracting antioxidants BHA, BHT and Irganox1076 from PE film with methanol by accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) and determined by ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) coupled with photodiode array (PDA) detector has been developed. The procedure developed has been applied to the determination of the antioxidants in different commercial food plastic packages.Chapter 3:A rapid method of extracting antioxidants BHA, BHT, Irganox1010 and Irganox1076 from fatty food stimulant isooctane by evaporating and determining by UPLC coupled with PDA detector has been developed. The procedure developed has been applied to determine the migration of the four antioxidants from PE films into isooctane under different temperatures, mathematical modelling based on the data has been established, and comparison is made between experimental and numerical results.Chapter 4:A confirmatory and sensitive UPLC procedure validated for determining antioxidants BPA, BHA, Ionox100, BHT, TTBP and AO425 has been optimized based on MINTAB statistical software. Agitation-centrifugation with methanol, concentrated by evaporating and agitation extraction with cyclohexane:ethyl acetate mixture clean up and concentration by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) has been compared. The best extraction solvent and the least volume has been confirmed. The procedure developed has been applied to determination of the antioxidants in different commercial oils.Chapter 5:A confirmatory and sensitive method of ultrasonic-assisted extraction and UPLC-MS/MS determination for antioxidants BPA, BHA, Ionox100, BHT, TTBP, AO425, AO2246 and AO300 in paperboard used as food packages has been developed. On the principle of the smaller solvent toxicity and the shorter extraction time, different extraction solvents were compared. On the basis of the optimized gradient elution and confirmed solution for determination, matrix effect was evaluated.
