The human beings always encounter the attack of natural disasters. Therefore the natural disasters come into both culture and aesthetics naturally. This dissertation studies the natural disaster and the relationships between the natural disaster and the social culture such as totem worship, nature worship, ancestor worship, witchcraft, philosophy, and religion, from an aesthetic point of view, so as to analyze the aesthetic value of natural disasters. First of all, the devastating natural disaster brought death and misery to human beings, and so human beings show their tragic and sublime in the process of "disaster-and-against". Secondly, the natural disaster is one of the basic themes of art and literature. The works based on such themes focus on the human beings'reflection to life, suffering, and death, which are with highest aesthetic value. Finally, the dissertation analyzes the relationship between human beings and natural environment according to the evolution of natural disasters since ancient times, so as to seek for a harmony way for human beings to go along with the nature, and to explain the necessity of the establishment of "intersubjectivity" ecological aesthetics.
