Protection Of Historical Cultural Towns & Villages And Water Environment Management

Historical cultural towns and villages is the towns and villages that preserved rich cultural relics with great historical value or revolutional significance, and that almost reflected the traditional style and local ethnic characteristics of this historical period. Towns and villages have undergone thousands of years of material and cultural accumulation, forming a unique spatial structure and human environment. However, with the development of society, historical towns and villages and their traditional architecture have been eroded by the modern civilization, and influenced by the destruction of natural environment.Protection of historical cultural towns and villages must considered in view of protecting the natural environment of ancient villages and towns as a whole, in particular protecting the water environment that affected the historical cultural towns and villages a lot. However, the work concerned started late in China, and lagged behind the international level. There are few assessments especially about the natural environment in the history of towns and villages, and less analysis involved in the protection of historical cultural towns and villages. Researches of water environment management, not only can explore the profound relationship between the historical towns and villages and the water environment, but also can provide scientific and technological support and decision-making basis for the historical village flood disaster risk reduction, moreover, they can enrich the theories and methods of developing the protection of China's historical cultural towns and villages. Therefore, it contains much theoretical and practical value.In the case of study, this paper look upon the Jinggang Ancient Town in Hunan with a history of 1300 years as the reseach object, and author may summarize the governance model referred to potection of the historical town and management of water environment through the investigation of their status, and the collections and analysis of historical data.Full-text is divided into three chapters. Chapter 1 is introduction; Chapter 2, the development of research of the historical town protection and management of the water environment; Chapter 3, the main part of the whole paper, discussing respectively, the water environment, the rise of town, water environment and development of the Jinggang Town, the influences affected by the changes of the water environment, and the construction and protection of water environment in Jinggang Town; then, according to the practice of Jinggang Ancient Town, author sum up the model of the preservation of historical and cultural towns and villages and management of water environment. The last part is conclusions and expectations.Chapter 1 comes up with the background, research significance, research purposes and the researches about protection of the historical and cultural towns and villages.Chapter 2 describes the objective of the protection of historical cultural towns & villages and the management of water environment.Chapter 3, as the focus of the study section, discusses the emergence of water environment and Jinggang Town from in-depth background analysis of water environment of the Jinggang Town, and water environment impacted on the town's location and the of spatial structure; introduces the relationship between the water environment and the development of Jinggang Town from aspects of town business, cultural landscape features, as well as the influence of floods to the town; introduces the impact of change of water environment on Jinggang Town from the perspective of changes in the macro-and micro-water environment; refers to the creation and protection of Jinggang water environment from the assessment of the value of the overall environment of town,the planning of the overall spatial structure of the protection of town, specific measures about town water environmental governance, and a subjective evaluation of town residents and visitors to the water environmental creation.This article sums up a general pattern of the protection of historical cultural towns and villages and the water environmental governance through the historical documents, and put forward ideas for further research.
