With the intensive study of wear-resistant materials and expand of application area gradually, the production process of metal-based in-situ column composite wear-resistant is continually improving. Because the domestic equipment drop behind, although China is a great producer of metal wire products, the existing devices are not able to meet requirement of the production process, contour machining of domestic metal wire reply on mainly labour-intenseive mode of production, using simple manual wire-bending machines, and some semi-automatic forming equipment, leading to inefficient production and high intensive labour of workers. Therefore, to some special wires products, the research of wire bending machine is of great practical significance.This article presents several measures of mechanism design, which analyse these measures impact on wire while they are bending, and select the best option for analysis and design. According to analyzing motion parameters of various parts, we can use the Solidwork software to design the solid modeling.Considering some deficiencies of the mechanical design theory and experimental study, the application of virtual prototype has directive significance for the design and research of wire bending machine. The paper analyse theoretical basis ,basic method and basic technology of virtue prototype, with the virtual prototype software—ADAMS, discussed the practical application of virtual prototype on product development, simulation experiment, and put the simplified three dimensional full-scale mockup into the ADAMS software, using ADAMS software to be a muti-body system virtual prototype simulation environment, established the simulation model of wire bending machine.By simulating operating mechanism of wire bending machine and analysis of kinematics, the curves of displacement and speed are educed, and compare with given motion parameters of operating mechanism, which validate the accuracy of method.
