The protection of Ujimqin grassland is a systematic project. Due to construction of Ujimqin grassland's ecological restoration project and scientific management and development of grassland resources, we took West Ujimqin grassland for an example and developed the Ujimqin grassland resource and environmental management information system using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, SuperMap Objects5.2 and SQL Server 2000 etc, which is based on"3S"technology, computer technology, database technology, COMGIS technology and environmental engineering technology. This system will make the grassland ecological construction and resources management more efficient and scientific, and will accelerate the construction of information-based grassland resources management.The system is designed in modular structure. Unified management of system's spatial database and property database is realized by using ADO technology and SDX+ data engine of SuperMap Corp. This system can achieve the spatial analysis module , such as buffer analysis ,this system can achieve planning and designing of ecological project, editing and browsing of procedure drawings, producing and export of thematic image and numerical statement and so on. With our system grassland resources could be fairly used and protected by utilizing remote sensing image to extract and classify the grassland information, to distinguish the result, and to regulate construction of ecological project after obtain the status. The system can dynamically monitor the ecological change of Ujimqin grassland with"3S"technology, which will obtain the grassland ecological information more precisely and quickly, and can provide reliable basic data and technological support for protection and development of grassland ecology.
