Due to the increasing amount of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generation and the insufficient waste treatment capacity in Beijing City, MSW management system is facing the trend of reducing and recycling. Composting, incineration, and synthesized disposal will take the place of sanitary landfill and become the main disposal approaches in the next 5 to 10 years. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is proposed in this study to evaluate the environment infection of 4 disposal approaches, including sanitary landfill, composting, incineration, and synthesized disposal approaches. The conclusion turns out that, the environment impact potential of sanitary landfill, composting, incineration, and synthesized disposal are 4.82×10-2,1.10×10-2,1.31×10-1 and 2.31×10-2, respectively. The results indicated that the environment impact lord of incineration is the lightest among the 4 treatment approaches, while that of sanitary landfill is the second, of synthesized disposal the third, and composting is the lest. The conclusion of environmental economic show that, among these 4 treatment methods, the environmental pollution loss of composting is the lowest, and second is synthesized disposal, the third is landfill, and finally is incineration. The profit-cost rate of synthesized disposal is highest amonng the 4 treat methods. Secondly is composting, because composting releases less pollutant although it cost much. So it brings less environmental loss but more environment profit, which makes a high profit-cost rate. The profit-cost rate of incineration is not high because it has not only a high environmental profit, but also huge cost and environmental loss.Landfill is a easy and cheap disposal method, but it's resource utilization and profit is low. It makes this method the less profit-cost rate.
