The Baotou Huamei Rare-earth Products Company was taken as an exemple to study cleaner production technology of rare earth industries in this paper. The company improved the pollution source management of production process. The advanced new technics"doublestage cooling+ doublestage sprinkle+doublestage defogging"was used for the decontamination of waste gas in roasting process to promote purification efficiency and take concentrated sulfuric acid back and produce cryolite. In the production process of mixed rare earth carbonates, sodium carbonate was used as precipitator instead of ammonium bicarbonate in order to prevent ammonia nitrogen pollution water. Ammonia evaporation method was used for decontamination of ammonium chloride waste water in deep-processing separation line, which could reduce the water pollution and also got ammonium chloride as byproduct. Coal gas are chosen as fuel for kiln hood, so that combustion pollution could be reduced from source.After finished the cleaner production projects, the production technique and facilities of the company reached domestic advanced stage. The waste gas and waste water generated from production process were decontaminated efficiently, and came up to the relevant standards. Hazardous wastes are treated in reason so that the pollution is prevented. After finished the cleaner production projects, total pollution discharge of the company is reduced efficiently. Cleaner production could lay foundations for development of rare earth industries and circular economical mode in The Baotou City, which could make the harmonious development of industrial advancement and environmental protection come true.
