This thesis pertains to the field of polyurethane rigid foams and more particularly, relates to a quite appropriate and innovative method for synthesizing a kind of Phenolic-Melamine modified polyether polyol. A stable and high solid content PFMP-Polyol was successfully prepared with specially synthesized dispersant. The compression strength of the polyurethane foam with PFMP-Polyol and other additives was significantly increased, while improving the flame retardant and heating insulation properties. This paper studied the raw materials and synthesizing process of PFMP-Polyol, such as reactant ratio, reaction temperature and PH, etc. Furthermore, the stability of PFMP-Polyol has been improved and lower- viscosity product been prepared through synthesizing a kind of amino terminated polyether polyol as dispersant. PFMP-Polyol and phenolic particle were characterized by Light Scattering Particle Size Analyzer, NDJ-1 Rotary viscometer, FTIR and GPC.In the end, Polyurethane rigid foam was prepared with PFMP-Polyol and appropriate formulation adjustment. Fortunately, the effects of PFMP-Polyol on foam structure, compressive strength, heating insulation and fire retardancy turned out to be very positive, especially heating insulated property.
