Inner Inspection PIG is a kind of non-destructive examination equipment which was used widely in online-detecting for the Oil and Gas Pipeline. It depends on the pressure of transmission medium to moving in the Pipeline. Inner Inspection PIG made use of several modern detection technologies, including Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL), Ultrasonic Experimenting (UT) and Electro-Magnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT), to identify the defects information. However, in the long-distance Gas Pipeline, Inner Inspection PIG is difficult to move smoothly. So it is necessary to control the detector velocity within a reasonable limitation, in order to improve the accuracy of the detector measurement.By the background of Sichuan to East Pipeline project, the simulated experiment of drive migration feature has been carried out in this paper to contrapose the speed control problem of the Gas Pipeline Inner Inspection PIG. According to a large of information which I have gathered, based on the gas pipeline engineering practice and prototype of Inner Inspection PIG, the author built and designed the experiment model and the model test system for the gas pipeline Inner Inspection PIG in accordance with similarity theory.This work includes the structure and working principle of the experiment system, the selection of experiment pipe, gas supply device and sensors, and the Experiment Detecting and Acquisition System which based on VB. By analyzing the affecting factors, the author designed the experiment model as assembly configuration. Focusing on analysis and design the structure of the leather cups, we designed the butterfly structure, the spherical structure and the new umbrella structure of drive cups. The model experiment imitated the actual of gas transmission, test out the information of transport parameters. The experiment results were analyzed and compared ,and it processed and obtained the relation curves and distribution graphs between velocity, acceleration and time, pressure difference, by the Detecting and Acquisition Software.It is increases an effective experimenting means for the study of the drive migration feature study by take the simulated experiment of Long-distance Gas Pipeline Inner Inspection PIG. It provided experimental verification and technical support to the development and operating maintenance of Inner Inspection PIG.
