Ecological environment is the basic conditions of human existence and development, and it is also the material basis of economic and social continuous development as well as impacted and restricted by various factors of natural and socio-economic. Using resources reasonally and well regional eco-environment are important conditions to achieve sustainable socio-economic development. With the social and economic development, regional eco-environmental vulnerability and ecological security have become the global focus.Dabie- Tongbai Mountain area is located in the upper reaches of the Huai River region, the region which is including the origin of the Huai River and located in the transitional zone of subtropical to temperate climate . The Study area is also a Climatic transition zone south and north and there are numerous anthropogenic actions . The above-mentioned facts are the complex causes what come into being natural and human-induced environmental degradation. All in all then , the study area has the critical Eco-environmental vulnerability. Carrying out the evaluation of ecological fragility of Huai River Basin Dabie- Tongbai Mountain and grasping the ecological environment and spatial pattern of the study area ,what is of great significance to the study area ecological security and sustainable and the region sustainable socio-economic development.First of all, the paper summarize the present achievement of domestic and foreign research, then dissecte the theoretical knowledge of ecological environment vulnerability. Based on the current situation of study area and entire country , background and significance of study problem is analyzed.Secondly, according to the human disturbance and nature factors of Tongbo-Dabie mountain in Huaihe basin , ecological environment vulnerability index system is established. In this index system, quantitative classification analysis method is applied. GIS and RS is used to deal with basic geography data and form the comparatively rational dataset which is establish for the studying progress. Then, the study calculated the weight of each index value by the principal component analysis in the ARCGIS software workstation platform. According to the comprehensive evaluation method, the paper developed to carry out a combination of qualitative and quantitative research on the Huaihe River Basin Tongbai - Dabie Mountain area to conduct a comprehensive assessment of ecological fragility. Evaluation results show that: the Huai River Basin Dabie Mountains - Tongbai mountains with mild level of vulnerability-based, micro and medium degree of vulnerability of the level of the second, strength and extreme intensity level of vulnerability is also a larger proportion of study area, the higher the overall ecological vulnerability ; From the point of view of the overall pattern of spatial distribution, the study area's ecological fragility increases gradually from north to south, the southern Dabie Mountain area larger than the ecological vulnerability of the northern part of the general Tongbai mountains; From the perspective of administrative divisions, most cities and counties have different degrees of ecological vulnerability to mild and moderate levels of vulnerability of cities and counties dominated the majority of ecological vulnerability evident in the differences between counties and cities. At the same time, using the spatial analysis function of ARCINFO , the study gets different ecological fragility area and spatial distribution and uses the cross-computing function of GIS software to analysis the relationship between ecological fragility and different geographic factors what contains elevation, land use types and soil erosion ,etc. and summarize the the distribution trend of ecological fragility and the major influencing factors. Finally, the paper put forward its proposals for formulating appropriate environmental management and ecological restoration measures of the study area based on the main conclusions of comprehensive evaluation, the relevant policies and development framework and combined with the actual development of the regional situation. At the end of the paper, it gives the main contents of the full text of papers and put forward the issue of be further improved during the course and the future prospects for further study and propose.
