| The paper evaluates the environmental geology and natural resources of Dabie Mountain area, Anhui Province, based on the sustainable development viewpoint. First, conditions of the environmental geology is appraised on the basis of analysis of tectonic, strata, magmatic rocks, terrain and landform, crust steadity and geological hazard et al. Combining qualitative with quantitative analysis, the present paper deals with climate, minerals, water, organism, land and tourism resources of the study area, and evalutes the resource conditions based on the evolution system. Last, based on the data of culture, society resource and economics for 10 years in Dabie Mountain area, the paper constructs an index system for sustainable development, evalutes its present conditions, and puts forward proposals and strategies for sustainable development in Dabie Mountain area.
