Micro abrasive water jet(MAWJ) technology is a new micro-processing technology developed on the basis of the traditional abrasive water jet(AWJ) technology.With the advantages of no heat affected zone,good cut quality,no polluting,energy concentration,it is particularly suitable for many small mold geometry and surface finish.It becomes an important foundation for sophisticated microfabrication techniques for hard and brittle materials. But with the rapid development of modern manufacturing, the traditional numerical controlled system has shortcomings such as poor compatibility , hard expansion, no flexibility man-machine interface.In this paper, theoretical research on MAWJ precision machining technology has been carried out.The basic structure of CNC system for MAWJ precision machining was analyzed in detail. To overcome inherent defects of the traditional water-jet machining CNC system,combined with modern CNC systems development, based on "IPC + PMAC" master-slave distributed dual microprocessor CNC system for MAWJ precision machining is proposed in this article.An open motion control system was constructed. IPC machine-based system, PMAC multi-axis motion controller is the core. IPC and PMAC with bus communication between the form of the system control center.Panasonic servo motor is selected. A semi closed-loop servo drive system is built.Control center receives the control signal to drive the CNC executive body. Four-axis control linkage is realized.Based on the CNC water jet machine tool ,software system framework is analyzed. By use of software engineering, the CNC system software modules planning is completed. In the real-time operating system Windows,based on VisualC++6.0 modular programming techniques , the IPC and the PMAC main communications between the modules and systems management software is achieved. Each functional module is designed and developed. Using PMAC's own communication driver Pcomm32PRO , the IPC and the PMAC fast, stable communications, real-time operation of the hardware is achieved .At the same time, in the system management software, simulation module such as arc length of the trajectory simulation algorithm segmentation is designed. Using this method arc fitting algorithm is simple and easy to implement. It Can be classified in decile on demand, and improve the efficiency of operations.In the overall design of CNC system, the system control parameters through debugging and set reasonable ,a satisfactory system performance is obtained. With reference to design a four-axis CNC water jet machine model, and the simulation running test experiments of G code for simple part was done in this mode.The experimental results show that the development of CNC system has good real-time and open, basically meet the requirements of MAWJ precision machining.
