Based on the whole process of LNG from gas fields under exploitation to the finished product, the thesis provides a detailed summary of LNG industry chain which mainly involves the upper, middle and lower process system and utilized equipments, including natural gas extraction, purification, liquefaction, storage, transportation and re-gasification to pipeline network and other links.It does an exploratory study in storage tank structure, furthermore, carry out analysis and put forward recommendations on the issues related to the tank each part design and manufacture . Taking 160,000 m3 LNG tank as a research object, it makes heat leak calculation on tank bottom, top and wall respectively and reckons the allowable heat leak according to the tank daily evaporation rate. Compared with the sum heat leakage of tank bottom, top and wall, it makes an analysis on the insulation performance of the tank. Finally, it does some temperature numerical simulation on tank bottom, wall and top by ANSYS software, through the simulation results more accurate analysis is made, also the correctness of the conclusions proved by heat leakage. Combined with the technology state of our country, some proposals to LNG insulation technology are raised. At present, there is no any special design code and product of large-scale LNG tank in China, the research has some reference value to the design and research of the large-scale LNG storage tank.
