Rockburst is an abrupt and unexpected disaster,which often causes great economic loss and personal casualties.Thus,the development of some convenient and reliable methods becomes one of the important subjects to prevent rockburst.Conventional methods have inadequate,the technique of high-pressure water jet cutting was applied to release the pressure of coal layer. Firstly, in the coal seam having to play a certain diameter and an enough depth drill; then within the borehole making use of abrasive jet to cut back off both sides, and forming a certain size of the cracks in the coal seam, the equivalent of mining in this layer some thin degree of liberation,making deformation of coal seams disturbed relaxation of damage until the damage and energy releasing. So as to achieve the purpose of pressure relief in coal seam to ensure mining safety.In this paper, theoretical calculation and the ground tests came out the models' size and shape which were needed by numerical simulation. To take a step further, based on ANSYS soft-ware,the finite element model of abrasive jet cutting was established in this paper,and the numerical simulation of stress transformation law of the near-seam area was made after cut. The results show that this technique--abrasive jet cutting seam not only can realize the release of the pressure of coal layer but also the effect is well. Analysis of a number of cutting seams simultaneity, when the drilling distance is 8m, it not only guarantees a good stress-relief effect, but also saves Resources.
