The vacuum heat treatment technology has a series of advantages, such as non decarburization, non oxidation, good degassing effect, degreasing, good surface quality, little distortion, long service life, no pollution, pollution-free, high degree of automation, and so on. Therefore, the use of vacuum heat treatment technology can replace traditional salt-bath heat treatment, and thus can solve the problems of traditional salt-bath heat treatment, such as environmental pollution, health risk, as well as the difficulty of waste treatment.At present, vacuum heat treatment technology plays an increasingly important role in the national economy. However, the number of vacuum heat treatment engineers is serious short. Moreover, older vacuum heat treatment engineers have abundant practical experience and lack of theoretical knowledge, but the young engineers are opposite. Due to this situation, the technical principle of vacuum heat treatment process is to be studied in this paper in detail. Moreover, it has detailed discussed precise complex cutting tool vacuum heat treatment process and its difficult issues.Some domestic vacuum treatment company workers still use hands when they design vacuum heat treatment process scheme. Undoubtedly, it will enormously reduce the work efficiency. In this article, the useful combination of computer technology, artificial intelligence technology and precise complex cutting tool vacuum heat treatment technology based on experts in the field with the reasoning of the decision-making capability is used to establish the precise complex cutting tool vacuum heat treatment expert system to solve the above mentioned problems. A brand-new method of cross-hybrid reasoning (CHR) was put forward according to changefulness of tool geometric parameters, process parameter complexity of vacuum heat treatment and its characteristic of process design. Study on this reasoning mechanism is not only to efficiently solve the problems in complex cutting tool vacuum heat treatment process, but also computerization and quasi-intelligent has come true.This article analyzes the expert system development process, development environment and its functions according to users requirement. Moreover, it gives the function block diagram of expert system. Expert answers to difficult problems, knowledge base maintenance and management and information query instances are carefully taken into consideration. Finally, the cross-hybrid reasoning mechanism is used to research the vacuum heat treatment process scheme, draw and dynamically revise vacuum heat treatment process curve. The accuracy and reliability of the process scheme based on cross-hybrid reasoning mechanism has been verified by the process sheme comparison.
