The continuous annealing line is one of the most important line in the Cold-rolling Mill Plant. This line has a series of merits such as shorter flow,higher quality and quantity and so on. It has become the indispensable equipment for the productin of the high surface quality request and the high intensity strip such as the auto mobile plates. In the continuous annealing process, the strip tension is an important factor that decides whether the continuous annealing line works steadily and promptly or not. For the metallurgical complex nature of industrial processes, people often used the simulation system further explore the dynamic properties of complex objects, for example, the advanced fault diagnosis and control experiments. The simulation system for strip tension which consists of the tension simulation software based on the dynamic model and the simulation software for the control system is established. Simulation experiments are carried out by using the actual data, and the experimental results illustrate the efficiency of the simulation system. The main works are as follows:1. A dynamic strip tension model of the pay-off reel is proposed.The simulation software of strip tension, which consists of the tension model software based on the dynamic model and the control simulation software, is established. Simulation experiments are carried out to prove the effectiveness of the model and the simulation software.2. Being different with the other loopers in the metallurgical industry, the looper in the continuous annealing line is comprised of rolls, cars and hoisters. So, the existing tension model of looper is not suitable for the entry looper in the continuous annealing line. The new tension model of entry looper in the continuous annealing line is proposed. The simulation software of the strip tension, which consists of the tension model software based on the dynamic model and the control simulation software, is established. Simulation experiments are carried out to prove the effectiveness of the model and the simulation software.3. A dynamic strip tension model in the heater furnance based on temperature fluctuation is proposed. The simulation software of strip tension, which consists of the tension model software based on the dynamic model and the control simulation software, is established. Simulation experiments are carried out to prove the effectiveness of the model and the simulation software.4. A dynamic strip tension model in the bridle roll is proposed. The simulation software of strip tension, which consists of the tension model software based on the dynamic model and the control simulation software, is established. Simulation experiments are carried out to prove the effectiveness of the model and the simulation software.5. Taking the strip tension control in the heater furnance as example, we developed a hardware-in-the-loop simulation system of the strip tension.
