Strip wrinkling and misalignment are challenges during continuous annealing process.In order to prevent strip misalignment,all working furnace rollers used are tapered rollers ,which can achieve the role of self-correcting.But this tapered rollers greatly increased the risk of strip wrinkling during continuous annealing process.For the purpose of solveling this problem,and ensuring the strip runs steadly and highly during continuous annealing process,it required that to research and analysis strip wrinkling under different conditions.The main purpose of this study is to learn more about the mechanism of strip wrinkling,the process,influencing factors and preventive measures,access to get high-quality strip with good shape.This paper introduced the mechanism and process of strip wrinkling firstly,and then use the finite element software ABAQUS to simulate and analysis.Through simulating wrinkling of representative strip in actual production lines, pointed out that it exists transverse compressive stress on strip and stress concentration phenomenon.And got wrinkling critical tension of different tapered rollers,the greater the furnace roller crown,the smaller strip wrinkling critical tension,but if furnace roller crown is grearer than 4mrad,the critical tension would not change more.Analysised the impact of friction on strip wrinkling.Also found that the bigger friction between strip and furnace roll,the more easy to produce strip wrinkling.And with the increase of tension imposed on the strip,location of wrinkling would move towards the roller shoulder,or appeared both at the cylindeical part and the shoulder of the furnace roller.The results obtained by simulation consistent with the test results of Japanese Matoba T.Using the physical model which is 1 10 of the actual continuous annealing production line to simulate,and obtain the wrinkling critical tension of 11.1mrad tapered roller,0.05mm aluminum foil is between 10.0MPa and 14.0MPa,which consistent with the physical model results 11.0~11.5MPa.All the results indicate that the choice of the numerical simulation program and the parameters has a certain authenticity,and can provide a theoretical basis and reference for the actual production line.
