| Cultivated land is the most valuable land resource, which is one of the most fundamental strategic resources of a country. In the case that agricultural technology has not yet made a major breakthrough, for the protection of national food security and food production capacity, the first task is to ensure the quantity and quality of cultivated land and to protect cultivated land resource security. Cultivated land resource security is the eternal goal of land protection. Cultivated land protection is China's long-term arduous task of land administration. Based on the existing theories and methods of ecological footprint model, from the deficiencies of its usage in the safety assessment for a single type of land use, "regional hectare"-based cultivated land productive ecological footprint model is created to evaluate the safety of cultivated land in Fengnan. Trends of time series and features of spatial distribution of the evaluation results were analyzed. And the security situation in the future was predicted. The study is a new attempt on evaluating the safety of cultivated land.Variation of time series 2002-2009 of cultivated land ecological footprint and capacity in Fengnan is analyzed. From 2002 to 2009, cultivated land ecological footprint in Fengnan increased with fluctuations. The cultivated land ecological capacity decreased from 2002 to 2005, and made a steady growth from 2005 to 2008 while increased significantly in 2009.Cultivated land in Fengnan was unsafe from 2002 to 2009 with high ecological deficit. Cultivated land ecological footprint per agricultural output has shown a downward trend since 2003, which reflects the improvements in technology have promoted cultivated land use efficiency to some extent. The ecological pressure index of cultivated land increased at first and then decreased from 2002 to 2009, which reached its lowest value in 2009. In the view of sustainable index, cultivated land use in Fengnan has always been unsustainable.Features of spatial distribution of cultivated land ecological footprint and capacity among towns of Fengnan in 2009 were analyzed, which showed a big difference. The sort of total and capita varied widely. Fengnan district-level distribution of per capita cultivated land ecological gains and losses has a significant regional character, which is obviously contiguous.Cultivated land ecological footprint and capacity in Fengnan in the future were predicted. The ecological capacity potential of cultivated land is divided into three levels of low, medium and high. Cultivated land ecological footprint was calculated in 2020, 2030, 2040, 2050, in which way each different ecological capacity level found balance time for cultivated land use. |
