Cultivated land is an important agricultural production material and a strategic resource necessary for human survival and development. It is of great significance to promote the sustainable development of the region to evaluate the sustainable utilization of cultivated land,to ensure the dynamic balance of the quantity and quality of cultivated land in the region, and to reasonably coordinate the relationship between man and land. However, with the continuous advancement of the urbanization process, cultivated land is occupied in large quantities, the sustainable use of cultivated land is facing great challenges, and ecological problems are prominent.Under the new normal of the economy,it is urgent to strengthen the research on the sustainable use of cultivated land in theory, and then strengthen the protection of cultivated land in practice, ensure national food security, and promote the sustainable development of China’s agriculture. This study improves the ecological footprint model based on "national hectares",and uses the ecological pressure index and sustainable use coefficient to evaluate the sustainable use of cultivated land;the traditional model and the improved model are used to compare the sustainable use of cultivated land in Guangxi in 2019.Analyzed and verified the rationality of the improved model;based on the improved model, starting from the time series, the dynamic analysis of the arable land use in Guangxi from 2010 to 2019 was carried out,and the least squares method was used to predict the arable land use in Guangxi from 2026 to 2030.The results show that the improved ecological footprint model is more conducive to the study of sustainable use of cultivated land in Guangxi.During the period from 2010 to 2019,the cultivated land ecosystem in Guangxi was in a relatively unsafe and weakly unsustainable state. The cultivated land ecological pressure index and sustainable utilization coefficient showed periodic fluctuations. The pressure on the cultivated land ecosystem in Guangxi from2010 to 2014 However, after 2014,due to the strengthening of cultivated land protection and the improvement of the average ecological productivity of cultivated land, the pressure intensity of cultivated land ecosystems has slowed down. The forecast shows that from 2026 to 2030,the cultivated land ecosystem in Guangxi will continue to be in a relatively unsafe and unsustainable state, and the sustainable use of cultivated land will be further reduced.Ecosystems will be under even greater pressure. This study believes that in order to promote the sustainable use of cultivated land in Guangxi,it is necessary to rationally adjust the population, strengthen people’s awareness of cultivated land protection, strengthen land supervision, ensure the quantity of cultivated land, and improve the productivity of cultivated land,so as to improve the level of cultivated land use in Guangxi.
