Research On Post Environmental Impact Assessment Of Mining Project

Mineral resources provide an important basis for human development. The exploitation of mineral resources not only promoted the development, but also caused serious environmental pollution and ecological damage. Environmental impact assessment system still has insufficiencies with developing of nearly thirty years. Post environmental impact assessment (PEIA) came into being an extension of environmental impact assessment, which improved the level of environmental impact assessment and the effectiveness of environmental management greatly. But the study of post environmental impact assessment of mining project has just started, which has shortcomings in theory and practice. Therefore, research on this part will be an important part in future.With reading extensive literature, this article summarized the theory and evaluation methods of post environmental impact assessment. On the basis of analyzing the results of previous studies and combining with characteristics, this article analyzed each focus of post environmental impact assessment of mining project. This paper argues that the focus included engineering analysis and protection measures analysis, ecological post environmental impact assessment, post environmental impact assessment of the tailing pond. The most important part is ecological post environmental impact assessment, which has five categories such as change of land use, landscape destruction, soil erosion, ground subsidence and ecosystem integrity.Finally, post environmental impact assessment of iron mining which belongs to North Mining Limited of Lushi County was studied as an example. This paper argues that the level of environmental quality did not change after the exploitation of iron mining, the predicted results are consistent with the monitoring, environmental protection run well; the main conclusions of post environmental impact assessment is consistent with the environmental impact assessment; also the reasons were analyzed which impact the environmental impact assessment results of mining project and suggestions were put which improve the results of environmental impact assessment.
