Moving-bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) as a new wastewater treatment technology, with the advantages of high load, high efficiency, less sludge and no sludge bulking, simple equipment, easy to operate, miniaturization, supporting, automation, is gradually from research to small-scale industry. Moving-bed biofilm reactor will be one of the future development directions.Moving-bed biofilm reactor is the first to solve the problem of filler hanging biofilm start-up, therefore, this paper first reviews the progress of moving-bed biofilm reactor start-up characteristics. After the experiment, a detailed discussion of the inoculative sludge concentration, hydraulic retention time, gas-water ratio on the impact of synthetic wastewater. The results show that:for the low concentration of influent CODcr (≤200mg/L), the inoculative sludge concentration is more than 2 times than the low concentration of influent CODcr, but no more than 1000mg/L. For the filler that is difficult to hang biofilm, the inoculative concentration is higher than easy to hang biofilm filler. HRT in the range 9.5h~19h, the filler 1 (Polypropylene multi-faceted hollow balls) and the filler 2 (The improved polypropylene multi-faceted hollow balls) showed that HRT is proportional to CODcr removal rate, ammonia nitrogen removal rate, the adhesion of microbial biomass in the filler. Gas-water ratio in the range of 25 to 65, for the filling 2, with the increase of the ratio of gas-water ratio, CODcr removal rate increases first and then there is a sharp decline in the relationship, CODcr removal efficiency in this range have an optimal value, but ammonia nitrogen removal rate, the biomass on the filler with the gas-water ratio increases gradually reduced. So futher draw:under normal temperature condition (temperature range in 20~30℃), filler 1 biofilm forming time is for 7 days, fill rate is 50%, HRT is 19.0h, water quantity is 0.01m3/L, gas-water ratio is 65. CODcr removal average rate is about 75 percent, ammonia nitrogen average removal rate is about 90 percent, average adherent biomass is about 0.08 mg/L. In low temperature condition (temperature range in 10~20℃), filling 2 biofilm forming time is for 6 days, fill rate is 10%, HRT is 19.0h, water quantity is 0.01m3/h, gas-water ratio is 25. CODcr removal average rate is about 71 percent, ammonia nitrogen average removal rate is about 82 percent, average adherent biomass is about 0.13 mg/L.
