In recent years, Turn-milling is one of the hot question in Mechanical processing and the future important developing direction. It is one of the key problems of the study to the machined surface quality of research, and the surface texture is an important part of the surface quality. Texture feature has important effect on parts performance. Surface texture of Turn-milling related research works has few reports in domestic currently.It is positive significance to study the relationship of the cutting parameters and the surface texture.According to induction and classification of machining surface texture and analyzing the formation mechanism of the surface texture of turn-milling, it is concluded that surface roughness and constructor of shaft section should be researched to the surface texture of turn-milling. Based on the analysis of process workpiece surface texture of axial turn-milling, orthogonal turn-milling, tangential turn-milling, turn-milling surface texture mathematical model is established when N (N is the perpetual lap that milling cutters complete a closed curve around workpiece) is one,two three and four. Based on the build of milling process workpiece surface texture modeling.Turn-milling surface texture is simulated by MATLAB software and studied the influence of cutting parameters of cutting speed,workpiece speed axial feed,cutting number and cutting edge length on turn-milling surface texture.Turn-milling machining surface texture is studied by using fractal method ,the two groups surface specimens of tangential turn-milling are cutted in the Mazak turn-milling machining center and the specimens surface information is collected. The fractal dimension is obtained by using fractal method of box dimension method,mean square root method,yard stick method. At last, analyzed the fractal dimension and surface texture, the relationship is got that the fractal dimension can express the workpiece surface texture information. As the fractal dimension increase, the surface texture height decline and the surface texture spacing decrease.
