Free-form surface have been widely used in aerospace, defense, as well as other areas in civilian for its advantages of properties and other advantages which the traditional rotary symmetric surface can not be achieved. So the ultra-precision machining of free-form surface is becoming the research hot spot.In recent years, Turn-milling has great attention in the mechanical processing field. As a result of the higher machining precision and the better workpiece quality, it has become a new method for machining free-form surface.This study aims to provide a high precision machining, namely diamond Turn-milling processing. At the same time the influence law of milling parameters on the quality of the workpiece of Turn-milling is also an important component of basic research in Turn-milling. It will be a reasonable basis for choosing cutting regimes in order to improve diamond Turn-milling processing productivity and precision machining quality.Based on the method of single factor and orthogonal experiment, the influence law of milling speed nF, feed rate f, milling depth ap on milling force,surface roughness and milling heat were researched and analyzed theoretically,when Turn-milling the Aluminum alloy, brass, copper and acrylic.The results of single factor experiments indicated that the milling force increases with the increasing of milling speed. But when the milling speed exceeds a certain critical value, the milling force has a decreasing tendency. The milling force increases with the increasing of milling depth, the increase of feed rate makes the milling force smaller in a certain range. The surface roughness of the workpiece is positively correlated with the milling depth, which is approximately to a linear relationship. The surface roughness of the workpiece decreases with the increasing of feed rate, finally the surface roughness is stable.The surface roughness of the workpiece with the increase of milling speed appears to approximate the zigzag fluctuation.The orthogonal experiment was shown that the workpiece material has a prominent impact on surface roughness, followed by feed rate, milling depth and milling speed. The milling speed and milling depth has a significant effect onthe milling force.The single factor experiments and orthogonal experiment show that milling temperature and environment temperature is negligible when Turn-milling the free-form surface, so the effect of the heat on milling machining can be ignored.
