The development of machine tools is increasingly towards high-speed and precisiondirection, while the spindle system is an important part of the machine, the static anddynamic characteristics of which is the main factors that affect machining performance.This paper carried out the dynamic modeling of SL-500 Ultra-precision surfacegrinding machine spindle system producted by Hangzhou Machine Tool Co., Ltd, then didthe analysis and calculation of static and dynamic characteristics in the use of finiteelement analysis software ANSYS, and studied their impact factors.The main contents are:(1)The paper summed up the system conditions and trends of the static and dynamiccharacteristics of the machine spindle system.(2)The paper introduced the modeling method of the machine spindle system, andestablished the dynamic model of the SL-500 Ultra-precision surface grinding machinespindle system.(3)The paper introduced analysis method of rolling bearing stiffness based on Hertzcontact theory and the approximate calculation method of rolling bearing radial stiffnessand axial stiffness , and did the stiffness of the SL-500 Ultra-precision surface grindingmachine spindle bearing 7208C.(4) The static stiffness test and vibration test were carried on the SL-500Ultra-precision surface grinding machine spindle system, through the data processing , the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle system were obtained.(5) The paper carried the finite element static and dynamic analysis on the SL-500Ultra-precision surface grinding machine spindle system, and did comparative analysis ofthe theoretical analysis and experimental results . After the research of static and dynamiccharacteristics of spindle system at different radial stiffness and axial stiffness and withdifferent span, the impact of the law were summarize d. Of the five alternativespecifications of the spindle bearing system, the paper researched its affect on the staticand dynamic characteristics of the system, and compared with the original spindle system.(6) The study is summarized , and proposed the direction of further study.
