For the purpose of reducing silicon content and improving sinter quality of Baogang, Reducing silicon content as far as possible under the condition of ensuring the sinter strength meet the requirements of blast furnace process .Improving blast furnace technical and economic indexes.Firstly, the influence of temperature, basicity and MgO content on mineral composition ,microstructure and compressive strength of Baotou Iron and Steel sinter produced by low silicon sintering to Baiyunebo iron ore concentrate was studied using orthogonal experiment ,mini-sintering test device and SEM. For seek the reasonable composition condition of low silicon sinter, Provide theoretical basis for the design of reasonable ore matching scheme. Revealing the influence basicity content, temperature and MgO content on mineral composition , The results show that when w(SiO2)=4.0%,the sinter of Baotou Iron and Steel also can has relatively high compressive strength .The influence sequence of different factors to sinter compressive strength is: temperature > basicity > w( MgO) > w(SiO2). When Baogang special mineral sintering in 1320℃,the microstructure of sintering samples is inhomogeneous, SFCA gradually decreased from outer to interior, the whole sample present thin-wall macroporous structure, compressive strength get worse .When sintering temperature is 1200℃,hematite of main crystal phase increased ,gangue content increased ,porosity increase ,void distribute uniform , mineral structure becomes uniform .Secondly, The influence of basicity, water content and carbon content on mineral composition ,microstructure and tumbler strength ,vertical sintering speed ,sinter product ratio of Baotou Iron and Steel(Group)Co. sinter was studied using sinter pot, SEM .In order to increase the strength of low silica sinter .The results show that ,when basicity content is 2.5 ,carbon content is 3.9% ,water content is 7.8% and MgO content is 1.6% ,the strength of sinter, whose SiO2 content is 4.0 percent satisfies the demand for charging in blast furnace.In this paper, the science basis were provided not only for Provide solutions on Baogang low silicon sintering, search reasonable content, exploring new technology of sintering but also for optimization of mineral processing, sintering process, smelting process and optimizing sintering production and improving sinter quality based on researching of the low silicon sintering experiment on Baogang iron ore . Realize sustainable development in ironmaking production.
