Oil industry is a high-risk industry, and oilfield safe production plays a very important part in the oil industry. As the rapid development of the oil well measurement technology and network communication technology, the automation management of oilfield gets significantly improved. Using wireless communication method to realize data collection on the oil well has become an inevitable trend. Most of oil fields are located in desert, swamp and shallow sea, it is vulnerable to accidents when unattended. In view of the status, this paper researches and designes an automatic measurement system for oil wells based on wireless transmission, aiming at the realization of measuring and transferring data of pumping unit loads, wellhead pressure, temperature, as well as monitoring the condition of oil well.Combining with measurement theory of pressure, temperature, load, this paper designs an automatic measurement system for oil wells based on wireless transmission. And it makes further research and design to structure transmitter. In addition, according to the description of the composition of pumping well system, working principle and analysis of pumping well dynamometer card, the wellhead liquid output of pumping well measuring principle and method is further studied.This paper mainly introduces the hardware and software designs of the system. Low power consumption is one of the important content. Therefore, in the design of hardware and software, it selects ultra low power consumption microprocessor MSP430F449 with sleep mode in order to reduce power consumption. Micro-power mode is used in the external circuit, and the device is in low-power state through precise power management closing unused modules. At the same time, programming techniques of micro-power is used to further extend the life of battery. In the end, the experiments verify that automatic measurement system for oil wells based on wireless transmission has such characteristics as high precision, low power consumption, well stability and so on. So it can satisfy the requirement of measuring field environment.
