With the rapid development of manufacturing industry in the world today, the thermal deformation of machine tools are becoming increasingly serious, which greatly hindered the development of new technologies. Now it is increasingly recognized such the view that processing precision often depends on the size of thermal deformation, and higher than the dynamic stiffness of the size. Germany experts of machine tool say:"the subject of future research work is reducing the thermal deformation of machine tools." Since the eighties of the 20th century, the study of thermal deformation at home and abroad have made many new results which improve the machining accuracy of the theoretical foundation and provided a theoretical basis. According to the analysis, the manufacture errors of modern machine tools sometimes caused by thermal deformation up to 50%.In precision machining it may reach the 40% -70% ratio. Therefore, the purposes of the deformation research of machine tools caused by the temperature and building the machine temperature field and the research of the dynamic characteristics based on temperature field is calculating the deformation of the machine in the process caused by the temperature change and the parameter changes of the machine which determine the size of the error and provide parameters for the processing of compensation, ultimately improve the machining accuracy.This paper uses the finite element method and ANSYS software to build the temperature field model of CA6140 which is the research object and analyzes its dynamic properties.The concrete work is as follows:(1)The chapters 1 and 2 of this article takes the motorized of the basic theory of heat transfer and temperature field theory based on ANSYS finite element analysis software in the relevant temperature field theory which provides a theoretical basis for the following analysis of whole temperature field of the lathe.(2)The chapter3 introduces the study and the basic institutions working principle of CA6140 lathe and then build the three-dimensional model of lathe. Calculating the heat of the CA6140 lathe parts----earing the heating power, and the relevant data for solving the temperature field.Then the temperature of the whole field of machine tools and lathes deformation are constituted based on the finite element analysis.(3)The chapter4 describes the related content of API THERM-500 instrument software and hardware and tests the lathe to compare the rusults between theory by finite element analysis of deformation and deformation error.(4)The chapter5 calculates the changes of the machine tools'dynamic characteristics between hot and cold machine state, and takes the analysis of variation, obtains the dynamic characteristics of machine tools based on the temperature field.
