The thesis has described three kinds of reaction conditions for the synthesis of unsymetrical diaryl thioethers by phenylthiotrimethylsilane (PhSTMS) reagent: TBAF catalyzes or assists, TBAF catalyzes or assists under microwave conditions and Cs2CO3 assists PhSTMS reagent for the synthesis of unsymetrical diaryl thioethers. This paper consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, recent progress methods for the sythesis of ethers, thioethers are described, including ULLMANN reactions, nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reactions, transition metal-catalyzed reactions. This materials provide the theoretical basis for experiments conducted. In chapter two, using tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) as the catalyst or assistant, unsymmetrical diaryl thioethers can be prepared throw aerobic nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reactions of phenylthiotrimethylsilane (PhSTMS) with aryl halides and nitroarenes. Compared with the method of the transition metal catalyzed arylations, this method is simple, economical and efficient. In the third chapter, according to the general conditions described during chapter two, the reaction condition is changed. Using microwave reactor, unsymmetrical diaryl thioethers can be produced by PhSTMS under microwave conditions with TBAF as the catalyst or assistant. Compared to the conventional reaction conditions, the results give short reaction time and high yields under microwave conditions. In the fourth chapter, unsymmetrical diaryl thioethers are generated by reactions of PhSTMS with aryl halides and nitroarenes, which are assisted by Cs2CO3. And, also, this method has some advantages, for example, simple, mild conditions, cheap materialed, environmental friendly, efficient and so on.
