With the development of the high-speed CNC machine tools featured high precision, fine surface quality and high productivity, only provided with a good static stiffness would no longer satisfy the needs of machine tool design, the dynamic characteristic has become an important indicator to evaluate the performance of machine tools. Due to the effect on the efficiency, precision, materials consumed and the cost etc., the dynamic analysis has become an indispensable part during the design of a machine tool.Based on the horizontal machining center---THA6350, this paper has developed the test modal analysis and the finite element analysis (FEA) of both the machining center and its key parts by means of LMS Test.Lab and ANSYS. The weakness was found through the dynamic analysis and modification suggestions were provided. Meantime, the law of modal stiffness and damping of fixed joints surface is obtained through experiments. The main work and contributions of this dissertation are listed as follows:1. The three-dimensional model of THA6350 was built in SolidWorks and the FEA model was constructed according to the principle of FEA modeling in ANSYS. The frequencies and modes of the machine tool were obtained through the finite element modal analysis.2. The experimental model analysis of the complete machine and the upright post has been done and the experimental frequencies and modes of the machine tool were gained. Compared with the results of FEA, the weakness was found.3. Modification suggestions were provided to the weakness of the machining center through ANSYS analysis.4. The law of Stiffness and damping was given after the test in the different state of roughness, lubrication and preload of fixed joints surface of the machine tool by LMS Test.Lab.The achieved results of experimental model analysis, FEA, optimization and the parameter identification would be helpful to the further research of fixed joints surfaces.
