In the process of clay refining, much waste clay was produced, including 30% oil, andabout two-thirds is lubricant oil. Clay, lubricant oil, colloid, asphaltene and polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons are basic components of waste clay. If waste clay can not berecovered and recycled, the environment will be polluted and resources will be wasted. Bynow, there has been no ways to get all the oil in waste clay recovered and adsorbabilityrecuperated completely. So, research on waste clay from refinery recovering and recyclingare of great significance.Base on rules of similarity and polarity replacement adsorption, polar solvent,non-polar solvent and the mixture of the both are served as extraction solvent to extract oilfrom waste clay, and lube base oil and unideal component of lube oil are obtained; and thenthe deoiling waste clay washed by water, the dry waste clay can be reused in refinery againand again.A lot of investigative test has been carried out in the process of solvent extraction ofwaste clay. By using 90~120℃petroleum ether as non-polar extraction solvent, 95%ethanol as polar extraction solvent, waste clay can get better regeneration effect. Whenusing solvent extract the remain oil under above condition, 100ml extraction solvent and50~60℃extraction temperature have a best result; when the extraction time is 30min, theproportion polar extraction solvent is 20% and extraction carried out three times, therecovery oil reach 32.9g/100g. In this article the placed time which is another importantfactor of regeneration, the more placed time is, the less specific surface recovered. The performance of recovery ideal oil was measured. Compared with lube base oil, theappearance, viscosity and acid value of the two are basically the same, so the ideal oil canbe served as lubricant base oil.The properties of regenerative clay and original clay have been contrasted. The specific surface area, the decolorization rate, the activity degree, free acid content, granularity, moisture content are similar and so the properties of regenerated clay are reactivated.Contrast experiments of lubricating oil refined with regenerative clay and original clay areconducted, the color of the two refined oil are almost the same, and both are lighter than thecolor of the raw oil. So, the adsorptive capacity of regenerated clay get reactivated, and itcan be recycled.
