Aiming at the problem of the ground surface movement and deformation due to underground excavation, the two-dimensional and three-dimensional formulas of the surface movement and deformation are given according to the Influence Function Method which is used to analyze this problem in this paper. These formulas can be used to calculate subsidence, tilt, curvature, horizontal movement and deformation. On the areas that subsidence has occurred, master the status of the ground surface deformation, predict the development trend, then, propose the control scheme; on the areas that subsidence may occur, predict the possibility and estimates of subsidence, then, give the prevention proposal.Aiming at the problem how to determine the parameters of ground movements, Genetic Programming is used and the theoretical models are established in this paper. Gain the nonlinear relationship between lots of factors according to test theoretical models, using a large number of measured data. The parameters determined by measured data and by Genetic Programming are in good agreement, so, this method can be well used to determine parameters in actual projects. In addition, according to the theory of Influence Function Method, simple program is written based on MATLAB. The program makes the calculation more convenient and simple, which can be applicable to mining engineering, tunneling and underground excavation in three dimensions. The cases of underground engineering excavation are calculated, using the parameters determined by Genetic Programming and program written based on Influence Function Method, and the figures of subsidence, tilt, curvature, horizontal movement and horizontal deformation are obtained which can response to the situation of the ground surface movement and give some guidance to excavation activities.
