The rapier loom plays an important role in modern textile machinery. At present, in order to improve the speed, conjugate cam mechanism is widely used in beating up mechanism. The improvement of its speed, the overall performance and efficiency of the whole machine are severely restricted by the dynamic performance of the conjugate cam mechanism. The conjugate cam beating up mechanism of the rapier loom is the object of this study. The following works have been accomplished. The structure characteristics of the link type and conjugate cam mechanism are analyzed, and the static design of conjugate cam is studied. Conjugate cam with sine and cosine acceleration motion law is designed to meet the requirements of the process of weft, and the conjugate cam profile equation is derived. Conjugate cam outline curve and the corresponding coordinate are obtained by MATLAB.A simplified model of the conjugate cam beating up mechanism is established. The follower of beating up mechanism is discreted processing by integrated modal method. The dynamic model of the conjugate cam is established based on the Lagrange equation, then research on numerical simulation of dynamic model with the first two order modes to explore the optimization scheme for reducing the free vibration of the conjugate cam beating mechanism. The structure parameters of beating up mechanism to the effect of dynamic characteristics is studied. The 3D modeling of the conjugate cam beating up mechanism with the sine and cosine combined acceleration is builded by SolidWorks software. The dynamic simulation with contact force between the roller and cam is carried out in the ADAMS environment to research on the operating response of sley and variation of indirect contact force between cam and roller. The method of reducing the contact force between roller and cam and reducing the torque of the main shaft are researched. The method can provide support for the optimization design of the conjugate cam mechanism.
