Not only the zinc calcine needs to be disposed but also the all kinds of dust, zinc powder and other zinc oxide materials need to be deal with in the zinc hydrometallurgy factory. These materials containing chlorine content higher than the zinc calcine. In the leaching process the chloride ions entered into the solution. In the zinc electrowinning the chloride ions is harmful the process. It may be corrosion of anode and the cathode and make the zinc strip difficult. So when the chloride ion content in zinc solution more than 100 mg/L, must be purify the chloride before the zinc electrowinning process. At present commonly used method to remove chloride ion are sulfate radical precipitation in addition to chloride, copper slag dechlorination and ion exchange ion exchange dechlorination. In this paper the research object is a zinc sulfate leaching solution from a factory. Study the behavior of 717 ion exchange resin removing chlorine ion. And do some theoretical analysis about 717 ion exchange. The 717 ion-exchange resin needs to be transformed before to be used. Dilute sulphuric acid is chosen as the transformation agent. The concentration of dilute sulphuric acid is 40~60g/L. The amount of dilute sulphuric acid for 2~4 times the size of the resin. Use the mercury nitrate titration to determine the content of the chloride ions. Studied the effects of different temperature, pH and chloride ion concentration on the saturation adsorption capacity of 717 ion exchange resins. Under the condition of temperature 50 to 55℃, pH=4.0, the material liquid chlorine ion concentration of 400mg/L, the concentration of chloride ion solution can be as low as 60 mg/L. Studied the life of the 717 resin was studied and the 717 resin regeneration. Use the 60g/L dilute sulfuric acid with 8 times the volume of resin as the regeneration agent. In the end introduced the process of 717 ion exchange resin.
